Westside Wolf Band
The Westside High School Wolf Band is the most visible facet of the WHS Band Program in the Fall Semester. The Wolf Band learns music and drill for a competitive halftime show to be performed at Varsity Football games, as well as various marching band contests throughout the Fall Semester. The Wolf Band consists of Woodwinds and Brass players, Drumline, Front Ensemble, and Color Guard. While all members of the Wolf Band participate in Summer Band Camp and rehearsals, earning a spot in the UIL drill is competitive in nature. The Wolf Band begins its rehearsals in the summer prior to the start of the school year, so be on the lookout for information regarding Summer Band Camp dates to be distributed near the end of the Spring Semester—please make plans to attend Summer Band Camp in order to earn a possible spot in the UIL drill. Also, the Wolf Band follows strict ‘No Pass/No Play’ guidelines, and therefore expects all members to pass their classes in order to participate in activities outside of the school day.
Contests
The Wolf Band has previously competed in the HISD Marching Contest, the Katy ISD Invitational, the Conroe ISD Lone Star Preview, as well as the UIL Region and UIL Area Marching Contests.
